Approaching the Photoshoot

When a California-based client reached out to me about launching a new pink baby bag on Amazon, they knew they needed more than just standard product photos. This wasn’t just a diaper bag—it was a thoughtfully designed, versatile baby bag with modern parents in mind. And that meant the photos had to go beyond the basics.

As a Utah-based Amazon product photographer, I specialize in bringing products to life through clean studio work and lifestyle imagery. For this shoot, I wanted to not only highlight the bag's functionality but also make it relatable for real parents browsing online.

Choosing the Right Setting

We shot the lifestyle portion just next to Draper City Park, outside the local Senior Center. The area has a beautifully designed building, clean lines, grass patches, benches, and wide walkways—everything I needed to create a calm, elevated look. The timing was key: we shot during golden hour, right before sunset, which gave us soft, warm light that added a polished and professional feel to the photos.

The Model & the Mood

To create the right tone, I hired a professional model who showed up perfectly styled for the shoot. She wore a vintage-inspired outfit with a light blue top and black skirt—a 50s/60s vibe that gave her a chic, urban mom look. Her blonde hair and classic style paired beautifully with the soft pink of the baby bag. I wanted the aesthetic to feel approachable but elevated—someone who is trendy, stylish, and totally capable of juggling bottles, diapers, and a planner.

Capturing the Functionality

This baby bag is full of thoughtful features: it can be worn over the shoulder, as a backpack, or clipped onto a stroller. It has insulated bottle pockets, tons of storage, a side compartment for baby wipes, and a roomy interior for everything a parent needs on the go.

To help bring those details to life, I brought props from Target: baby toys, diapers, a blanket, and even a journal to represent "mom essentials." We photographed the model pulling a bottle from the insulated pouch, unzipping compartments, accessing wipes, and showing how the bag can be carried in different ways. Every shot was about making the product feel real, useful, and desirable.

Amazon Standards + Lifestyle Impact

As always, we included clean white background photos to meet Amazon's listing requirements. I also designed custom infographics to help showcase the product’s standout features at a glance. But the lifestyle shots were where the bag truly came to life.

Photos with a real model in a real setting add context and trust. Buyers can picture themselves using the product—which is something plain studio shots or Photoshop mockups just can’t deliver. Lifestyle product photography helps create that emotional connection that leads to more clicks, more time on the listing, and more conversions.

Polishing the Final Images

Before delivering the gallery, I carefully edited every photo: enhancing colors, removing distractions like flyaway hairs or stray grass on the pavement, and ensuring the bag looked neat and full. (Pro tip: I always stuff bags so they hold their shape and look clean on camera.)

The final results? The client said the photos looked great and are now gearing up to launch the listing. While they didn’t provide much detailed feedback, I know these photos will give them a strong, professional presence right from day one.

What I Wish More Brands Knew

If you're trying to sell a product on Amazon, strong visuals aren’t optional—they're essential. Your product needs to stand out in a sea of listings. That means showing it clearly, beautifully, and most importantly, in use.

Consumers want to see real photos—not just digital renderings or your product Photoshopped into a stock photo. They want to know how it fits into their life, and that starts with great photography.

Whether you're local to Utah or working with me from out of state, I can help you create listing images that build trust and boost sales. From polished studio shots to scroll-stopping lifestyle images, your Amazon product deserves to be seen at its best.
